Novorizontino secured their spot in the semifinals of the Paulista A1. The team clinched an electrifying 2-1 victory over Santos this Sunday, in a quarter-final clash that maintained tension until the final whistle.

The quarter-finals are played as single-leg ties, and with this triumph, Novorizontino joins Sao Paulo and Palmeiras as teams qualified for the competition's semifinals.

The Goals of the Match

Novorizontino's first goal came after an error by Neymar in possession, who attempted a back-heel pass following a throw-in by Santos. Tavinho capitalized on the mistake, advanced down the wing, and delivered a precise cross to Romulo, who simply tapped it into the net in the 45th minute of the first half.

In the second half, in the 64th minute, Santos found the equalizer. After a cross from Igor Vinicius, Gabigol missed the ball, but Gabriel Bontempo was alert to pounce on the rebound and fire into the corner, leveling the score.
